If you register for your own domain name and purchase our hosting services, HelpQuest.Com will handle the domain name registration with the InterNIC. Once you submit an order with us, we automatically send the new domain name application to Network Solutions for you. On the domain name record, you will be listed as the Administrative and Billing contact. HelpQuest.Com will be listed as the Technical contact. .

Can I transfer an existing domain to HelpQuest.Com?

You can transfer an existing domain to HelpQuest.Com at any time. HelpQuest.Com will even make the transfer "transparent". That is, if your domain is currently being hosted with another hosting service and you want to transfer the domain to our hosting services, we will set it up so that the domain transfers to our servers and no one will be able to tell. Your website will never be inaccessible while the domain is being transferred to our server. See our website on making your transfer transparent to HelpQuest.Com for more information.

Remeber that HelpQuest.Com will also handle the transfer application of your domain name as well. So you do not need to contact the InterNIC and request that your domain name is moved to our service. We provide this service as part of our standard package.

How long does it take before my domain name is active?

Because we automate the process of registering your new domain name with Network Solutions, your domain name will be activated as quickly as possible.

New domain names could be active anywhere from 24 hours to 5 business days - it all depends on the InterNIC and not HelpQuest.Com. We will have your account with your IP address set up within 24 hours of your order.

The InterNIC, responsible for all top level domains, charges $70 per domain name for the first 2 years or use and $35 per year thereafter. The InterNIC will bill you via e-mail and postal mail for your new domain name, HelpQuest.Com does not play any roll in payment of your domain name.

Certainly, in fact, you can have multiple domains point to the same domain for only $59.95 annually, but remember for each domain the InterNIC will bill you $70 for the first 2 years and $35 for each year thereafter.

Can I have multiple domains point to different pars (directories) of the same account?

No, we do not allow you to have multiple domain names pointing to different areas of any one single account. Although some other providers offer this, there are some strong downsides to this service and therefore it is not offered.

How long does it take before my domain name is active?

Once the InterNIC announces that your domain name has been registered (or transferred, if applicable), it usually takes about 72 hours before it is active. All internet providers must update their records (DNS tables) to reflect new site locations. This is called propagation.
